King’s Speech confirms creation of Great British Railways

King’s Speech: HM the King has confirmed that Great British Railways will be created and private sector passenger operators nationalised. The Railway Industry Association says it supports the Government’s pledge to establish a reformed and unified railway system, while the RMT and ASLEF have also welcomed the government’s plans. However, private sector lobby group Rail Partners has warned that nationalisation will increase costs.
