Semi-truck rollover closes entrance ramp east of Topeka

TOPEKA (KSNT) - A highway ramp in east Topeka is temporarily closed due to a crash.

The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) is investigating a rollover on an entrance ramp from U.S. Highway 40 onto I-470. According to the KHP crash log, the driver of a semi-truck was taking the curve onto westbound I-470 when the left side tires went off the roadway. The driver overcorrected and overturned. He was taken to a local area hospital with possible injuries.

According to Kandrive.gov, the entrance ramp from U.S. Highway 40 is closed until further notice. According to the website, the entrance ramp from southbound K-4 to westbound I-470 is closed due to a crash. Shawnee County Emergency Communications Center tell 27 News a local fire department is currently on the scene.

A 27 News reporter on the scene said semi-truck was tipped over, with its load spilling out. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
