EF-0 tornado touches down in Genesee County

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- An EF-0 tornado touched down in the Town of Pavilion and caused tree damage along a path spanning three-quarters of a mile on Monday, the National Weather Service announced. No injuries or deaths were reported.

Monday's tornado comes after the remnant storms from Hurricane Beryl that caused four tornadoes -- an EF-2, EF-1, and two EF-0s -- to hit Western New York last Wednesday in a span of two hours.

According to the NWS, Pavilion's tornado reached 85 mph and lasted for two minutes between 3:50 and 3:52 p.m. The path of tree damage ran along the center of Pavilion and continued through a small neighborhood on the town's west side.

The most significant tree damage was at a residence near the town's center, the NWS said. The tornado proceeded just north of Pavilion Elementary School and ended before the intersection of Perry and York Roads.

Along with the affected residence, the damage consisted of several uprooted trees and numerous tree limbs down, according to the NWS. No other structures sustained any significant wind damage.
