Emma Roberts Is Engaged
She and actor Cody John broke the news on Instagram.
Emma Roberts finally beat her mom to sharing a life update: She’s engaged! Four years after the American Horror Story star’s mother became the first family member to confirm her pregnancy via an Instagram comment, Roberts posted a happy photo of herself holding up a ringed finger and hugging her fiancé, Cody John. For good measure, she wrote in the caption, “putting this here before my mom tells everyone.” Congratulations to her on both fronts!
John — or, as his Instagram bio suavely asserts, “John … Cody John” — is also an actor, who’s appeared in The Rookie, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, and The CW’s In the Dark. He was first seen with Roberts in August 2022 after she parted ways with Garrett Hedlund, the father of her child. According to E! News, the couple had started dating two months earlier after meeting through mutual friends and were “taking it slow” — Roberts was “cautious about bringing her son around new people.” Still, she apparently “loves Cody’s personality” and finds him “really funny.”
Since then, the duo have dedicated several birthday posts to each other and were seen holding hands at Coachella in 2023. The next logical step is, of course, marriage, which is great for them. How many celebrity relatives will be at the wedding?
