Back when the Ember mug first came out, the idea of a mug that stays heated at the perfect temperature seemed so novel. I remember testing the first version years and years ago, shocked that I didn’t have to microwave and re-microwave my sad coffee. It’s a compelling luxury item to invest in, but the problem is that it’s up to $150, and I think for most people (including myself), $150 for a mug is hard to justify. Like, yeah, Ember mug-heated coffee tastes better than microwave coffee, but is it really worth it?

So when brands started making similar versions, it’s no surprise people flocked to the dupes. And one of the best dupes out there is the Nextmug Temperature Controlled Self-Heating Mug, which is on sale at QVC right now.

This self-heating mug comes with a lid, docking coasting, and charging cord. What’s nice about it is that it has an auto-off feature, so you don’t have to panic if you’re already 30 minutes away from your house and realized you forgot to shut it off.

It’s easy to keep it at the perfect temp—whatever that means to you. It goes all the way up to 145 degrees Fahrenheit up to three hours, simple on and off temp control buttons (so nothing fancy, but honestly, I prefer that), and a rechargeable battery.

Shoppers love it, with one enthusiastic customer writing, “So many good things going for this cup. I like my coffee HOT and this system delivers. I used to have my Keurig brew me a cup and then microwave that cup to bring it up to temp. I would then place that on your usual coffer cup warmer that I had set on 190 degrees.
