My family of 6 lives in a 230 sq ft home – we all fit with a queen bedroom and bunk beds & nicknamed it ‘Trailer Swift’

WHEN you own your residence, you can do whatever you want with it, even name your tiny home Trailer Swift.

Like Taylor says, “This is our place, we make the rules.”

Redditor Baberton revealed that she’s managed to make a tiny home work for her large family.

“Our family of six, my hubby, me, and four kiddos, live in a 230ish square foot travel trailer that we’ve renovated!” she said.

“It’s got a queen bedroom in front, kitchen/living/bathroom area in the middle, and bunk beds in the back.”

Although many may question the trailer home’s size, she explained that it worked well for their needs.

It accommodated her, her husband, and her four kids, ranging from one to six years old.

“It suits us perfectly! We feel like we have the perfect amount of privacy-to-space ratio,” she said.

However, their “perfect” home came with a fair amount of legwork.

“We bought our trailer on [Craigslist] and then almost completely gutted it and made it like a tiny house inside rather than an RV type,” she said.

“At the end of everything, we spent about 10k. Totally worth it for us!”

She added that when they first purchased the trailer, it originally had no railings on the bunk beds, and the wardrobe had doors with no shelves.

After many renovations, including lots of coats of paint and new floors, butcher block countertops, kitchen cabinets, and striped walls, they turned the trailer into a homey oasis.

The couple dedicated a corner of the trailer to their new bedroom, installing a large bookshelf above their queen bed and freshly painting the walls.

Their kids also got to choose their own color for their portion of their “room,” with new railings for their bunk beds.

To jazz up their bathroom, they installed a new vanity with a renovated sink and shelves.

Ikea purchases fueled much of their trailer’s transformation, with new tables and storage benches replacing the trailer’s original jack-knife couch.

To increase the storage space in their home, they doubled up on helpful furniture.

For example, they installed a pantry near their kitchen tables.

They even made room with a new baby in the family with a crib built into the bottom bunk.

The Redditor also came out as a Swiftie: “Yup, we named our trailer Trailer Swift,” she said.
