Disneyland offers $69 ticket to Anaheim residents in honor of park’s birthday

Disneyland is sending a birthday gift to Anaheim residents on its 69th anniversary after the city approved the $1.9 billion DisneylandForward proposal that will change the face of the theme park resort district over the next four decades.

Disneyland is offering Anaheim residents $69 tickets in honor of the 69th anniversary of the park — which debuted on July 17, 1955.

The deep discount is 34% to 64% off the $104 to $194 single day, single park tickets.

The special Anaheim residents tickets can be used at Disneyland or Disney California Adventure on any day that reservations are available from Aug. 5 through Sept. 26.

The offer is valid only to city residents living in Zip codes 92801 through 92809, 92812, 92814 through 92817, 92825, 92850 and 92899.

Proof of residency is required to purchase tickets and get into the parks. Anaheim residents can purchase up to five tickets with a valid ID.

The “thank you” to Anaheim residents comes a month after DisneylandForward officially went into effect in June.

“Anaheim residents, thank you for being great neighbors,” according to the Disneyland website. “We appreciate and celebrate you on our 69th anniversary. You’ve been part of our history. Here’s to the future.”

The DisneylandForward proposal approved by the Anaheim City Council in May dangled 10 potential themed lands based on Avatar, Frozen, Zootopia and other Disney, Pixar and Marvel films that could come to the Anaheim theme park resort.

Disneyland has been plagued by low attendance this summer, according to MiceChat.

“The attendance issues are mostly the result of high ticket prices and Magic Key blockout dates,” according to MiceChat. “Most dates this July have been in the range of $169 to $194 for a one-day one-park ticket.”
