APD investigating after 1 person shot in southeast Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Austin Police Department is investigating after one person was shot in southeast Austin on Wednesday.

Shortly before 9:15 p.m., APD said officers responded to the scene, at East Riverside Drive and South Interstate 35 northbound frontage road, the agency said on social media. The shooting victim was taken to a hospital.

Police said the northbound frontage is closed at Sunnyvale Street, and the Riverside Drive exit is closed. Drivers should expect delays, as well as seek alternate routes.
