Greek Cypriot lawyer to face Bar disciplinary board over property sales in north

Former Disy MP, lawyer Rikkos Mappourides is being sent to the Cyprus Bar Association disciplinary council for participating in companies – including in the north – providing managerial services without a permit.

The company dealing in real estate in the north – Innoinspira – is registered in the state-controlled areas at the address of Rikkos Mappourides’ office and also runs an office in the north.

Since the case surfaced in January, the company’s website has “disappeared”, thus removing access to any information regarding its content.

The company had been advertising services regarding legal advice, company law, real estate and investments in property across the island.

According to Politis daily newspaper, investigations showed Mappourides to be involved in two other companies as an officer, providing managerial services without the necessary permits from the Bar Association or the Cyprus Securities.

Politis said the police and the Cyprus Securities are both carrying out investigations.

Mappourides had denied any involvement.
