Tottenham looking to hijack Fulham’s transfer for Scott McTominay as Man Utd name their price
MANCHESTER UNITED want at least £40million before they even consider selling Scott McTominay.
SunSport can reveal Tottenham are now tracking the Scottish international.
Their London rivals Fulham have already had a bid turned down for the player.
But further offers are expected for McTominay, who may need to be sold by United to help balance the books — and support a planned summer spending spree.
United have already wrapped up a £36.5m move for Dutch striker Joshua Zirkee from Bologna.
While the Red Devils are also close to a £52m deal for Lille’s French defender Leny Yoro.
And they now want £40m for McTominay after demanding just £30m from suitors last year.
Sources close to the Red Devils say that Erik Ten Hag is keen to keep the Scot.
But he is not regarded as a first-team starter, which may lead to him moving on to make the next step in his career.
There’s interest from overseas, with Turkish giants Galatasaray confirming they are keen on landing McTominay.

But the midfielder’s preference is to stay in the Premier League.
And a switch to Spurs has now emerged as an option due to the north London’s club’s failure to secure the services of Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher.

They’d targeted the England player as a priority signing but he’s now looking more likely to remain at Chelsea and see out his deal.
Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou is believed to be an admirer of McTominay and reckons he could add a new dimension to his team alongside James Maddison.
McTominay came close to leaving United last summer, with West Ham and former boss David Moyes tabling a bid.
But talks broke down and he remained in Manchester, where he went on to have an excellent season.
Many fans would be disappointed to see him leave, but club insiders say McTominay is “open-minded” to the idea of a switch to help secure regular first-team football.
