'Break Kennedy's record': Ex-Clinton aide makes huge prediction about Trump's RNC speech
Political analyst and former adviser to President Bill Clinton Paul Begala made a prediction about Donald Trump’s upcoming Republican National Convention speech Thursday: it’ll be record-breaking.
Fresh from what has already been a three-day love fest for the former president, Trump is scheduled to close down the gathering of Republicans Thursday night.
And Begala told CNN what is traditionally a massive celebration of the party’s presidential nominee is set to reach new levels.
“Run the clock,” he said. “Before he ever speaks. By which I mean in 1964, after President Kennedy was assassinated, Bobby Kennedy stood up to introduce a documentary. The applause went on for 16 minutes. That’s the record in American politics. I think Donald Trump will break that record tonight.”

Begala was speaking after Trump was shot at a rally Saturday in an attempted assassination.
The attack has been the central focus of this year’s convention, being used over and over to reinforce messages about Trump’s character and strength. Delegates even took to wearing bandages on their ears, similar to the one covering Trump’s wound.
Begala said, “I think because it is his party, and thank God he survived that shooting attempt, I think that the outpouring of love there is going to be extraordinary. I think it may break Bobby Kennedy’s record."
