Upcoming live music
Live music sounds can be found all around the island these months as festivals and concerts make up a big part of the cultural agenda. Local musicians and invited stars from abroad perform live this summer and several musical happenings are coming up.
This week, several live music performances will take place at Vinylio Wine Etc in the heart of Limassol’s old town. On Friday night, jazzy melodies will sound as the saxophone and piano instruments take over. On the following evening, Elena Solea will perform live accompanied by her guitar to add tuneful notes to another summery Saturday.
A few days later, the popular local trio Rumba Attack will perform live at the Agora Hotel in Lefkara village. Their performance on July 26 is set to begin around 8pm filling the hotel’s stylish grounds with their distinctive Flamenco-Rumba style, combined with sounds from the Middle East, Greece, rock and bossa nova.
For classical music melodies, the Kyrenia Opera will present the Puccini: 100 Years concert at Ypsonas Municipal Theatre on July 30. An ensemble of musicians, a chamber orchestra under the baton of Constantinos Yiannoudes will celebrate Giacomo Puccino and his timeless compositions. The performance will also feature the voices of Chryso Makariou, Anastasia Michaelidi, Zoe Nicolaidou, and Valon Imeri singing some of his operas.
