Antlers man arrested after deadly 2023 home invasion

An Antlers man has been arrested following the death of a 95-year-old woman and the assault of a 73-year-old woman in August 2023.

ANTLERS, Okla. (KFOR) - An Antlers man has been arrested following the death of a 95-year-old woman and the assault of a 73-year-old woman in August 2023.

According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the Antlers Police Department requested the bureau's help with a home invasion near East Main St. and Northeast D St. on August 29.

When Antlers PD arrived on scene, officers found 95-year-old Gladys Land and another 73-year-old woman with significant injuries. They were both treated at the scene and taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Officers determined that someone had forced their way through the back door of the home.

Officials say Land later died from her injuries and the other woman was released, but is still being treated for her injuries.

OSBI special agents began investigating and later arrested 20-year-old Kristopher Coffelt on July 17, 2024.

He was booked into the Pushmataha County Jail on charges of First-Degree Murder, First-Degree Burglary and Assault and Battery with Great Bodily Injury.
