MHA tells states to ensure LGBTQ+ prisoners rights in jails

The Centre directs state governments to ensure equal prison visitation rights for members of the queer community without discrimination. Guidelines from 'Model Prison Manual, 2016' and 'Model Prisons and Correctional Services Act 2023' to be implemented. LGBTQ+ individuals can now meet chosen persons during jail visits.
