Myha’la and Armando Rivera Are Engaged

Myha’la and Armando Rivera have officially gone from being the hottest, coolest couple in Brooklyn to being the hottest, coolest engaged couple in Brooklyn. In an Instagram carousel on Wednesday night, she shared the news with two photos showing off their matching chic, chunky silver engagement rings, captioning the post, “It’s clipped for the rest of yall! Soz!!! <333 I love you @rivmando forever!”
In the photos, Rivera is wearing a shirt with his beloved’s face all over it that appears to be from Etsy, which is beautiful to me. As Tashi Duncan famously implied during her argument with Patrick Zweig in Challengers, your lover should always be a member of your fan club. Anyway, the two have been dating since they met over Instagram DMs in November 2020.
They shared the entire, very cute story with W magazine in an interview last year, but basically, he was a six-foot-five soccer star in his final year of college; she was a young five-one actress reeling after the first season of HBO’s Industry, featuring her breakout performance as Harper Stern. He DM’d her and the creators to say he loved the show — and then asked her if he could interview her for a journalism-class assignment (!). The subsequent Zoom call was basically love at first sight, and after meeting and holding hand-sanitized hands for the first time a few months later, they were, as Myha’la put it, “inseparable from then on.”
She’s not the only Industry cast member whose future holds wedding bells. Marisa Abela, who co-stars as Yasmin Kara-Hanani, had her own extremely sweet and wholesome Instagram-carousel engagement announcement, posted by her now-fiancé, Jamie Bogyo; according to People, the two have been together for four years. Can’t wait to celebrate these gorgeous happy couples when season three of Industry drops next month!
