Dublin-based charity confirms huge Taylor Swift donation following sold-out Aviva run

“It’s going to go a long way towards helping a lot of people.”

A Dublin food poverty charity has confirmed that Taylor Swift donated €25,000 to their services following her sold-out shows earlier this month.

Crosscare confirmed on their website that the ‘All Too Well’ singer made a significant contribution to their service following her concerts.

Swift is known to do similar acts of charity in every city she has visited, including Edinburgh, Liverpool, and London.

The name of the charity was not disclosed until Crosscare confirmed the news on Thursday, July 18.

In a statement on their website, Crosscare said they are “delighted” to confirm that their charity was chosen by Swift for a contribution.

“We work with hundreds of families with children who struggle to provide good food every week,” the statement read.

“We provide them with essential food supplies, help them get back on their feet, and help them find a way to support themselves independently in the long term.

“Taylor’s donation will enhance our ability to assist even more families in need in the coming months.”

Crosscare describe their approach to providing food assistance as ‘unique’, saying that they “operate from discreet locations around Dublin, offering food hampers to those in need while working with them to regain financial independence and the ability to shop and provide for themselves.”

Last year, the charity supported almost 800 families, including over 1500 children and distributed over 2,000 food hampers.

“Demand for our service continues to increase, and with donations from Taylor Swift and our existing supporters, we will be able to solidify this service and expand, if needed, to reach those most in need,” the statement continued.

“In addition to providing food supplies and support to people in this challenging position, we also offer low-cost nutritious meals every week in our Portland Row café in Dublin.

“In 2023, the café served over 6,000 meals between breakfasts, lunches, and takeaways. Café staff work with those who come to us in need of support and ensure they get the help they need. The Café has also become a warm, friendly meeting point for the local community.”

Last December, it was reported that Taylor Swift gave €55 million in bonuses to the crew working on her tour.

The millions were shared among Swift’s dancers, band, sound technicians, truckers, riggers, and catering crew.
