On April 25, another woman became a new victim of the abortion cartel. This time, a 20-year-old female had an anaphylactic reaction after having an abortion procedure at the Planned Parenthood (PP) in Hempstead, New York.
The Emergency:
Anaphylaxis, also known as anaphylactic shock, is a “severe allergic reaction that needs to be treated immediately” according to the portal WebMD. From public records, it is not clear whether the reaction happened due to a surgical or chemical abortion procedure. A severe allergy can result from pain medications given for a surgical abortion or the drugs used in chemical abortion, mifepristone and misoprostol.
During the 911 call, the caller from Planned Parenthood who identified herself as a nurse, mentioned that the patient felt “her throat was closing” which means the patient was very likely entering stage 3 of anaphylaxis. In this stage, patients experience shortness of breath and chest pain and need emergency treatment. After that, comes stage 4, when anaphylaxis can lead to death.

Questionable Competence:
Although research and health specialists clearly specify the first response to anaphylaxis should be administration of epinephrine, this medical protocol was apparently not followed. The caller stated the woman“was given Benadryl” and made no mention of epinephrine.
Public records are unclear whether clinic staff administered Benadryl orally or injected it, but according to Mayo Clinic, pills should never be given since “they work too slowly in a severe reaction.” No matter what form of Benadryl she received, it was not the correct or necessary treatment. Specialists at Harvard Medical School affirm that “epinephrine is the only effective treatment for anaphylaxis.”
This young woman’s case raises several important questions: Are abortion facilities truly ready to “help” women? Why don’t they have essential medications on hand that can save lives? Do abortion clinic staff lack medical training or are they simply negligent?
“Allergic reactions occur fairly often at these killing centers, both after administration of chemical abortion drugs as well as during or after a surgical abortion,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.
“There is no excuse for lack of preparedness with appropriate training and life-saving medications. However, Planned Parenthood does not exist to offer ‘health care’ but rather to profit from the killing of innocent children. And, if a woman is injured or killed in the process, Planned Parenthood and other abortion facilities continually try to hide and deny it.
These facilities need to be held accountable. Unfortunately not all states demand adherence to basic standards required of real medical clinics. Operation Rescue conducted a special investigation into abortion facility inspections from 2020 to 2021 and discovered massive regulatory failures in 40 states.”
