Lafayette man arrested in connection with sex crimes against children
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)-- A Lafayette man was arrested in connection with sex crimes against children.
Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Cyber Crime Unit arrested 23-year-old Jaylen Jonte Mouton, of Brookwood Circle in Lafayette, on Thursday, July 18.
Authorities said Mouton was charged with:
- Two Counts of pornography involving juveniles - Production -- (Felony)
- Four Counts of indecent behavior with juveniles -- (Felony)
- Two Counts of carnal knowledge of a juvenile -- (Felony)
Agents received a tip from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children, which resulted in the initiation of a joint investigation with General Murrill’s Cyber Crime Unit, Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, the Federal Bureau of Investigations and Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Mouton was located in Lafayette Parish and brought to the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center as a fugitive from Vermillion Parish, where authorities said the crimes occurred. He was later transported and booked into the Vermilion Correctional Center on the above charges.
This is an ongoing investigation.
