At the time Ollie told viewers dating other people on the ITV programme made him realise he was still in love with his ex.

Before leaving, he shared his reasoning in the Beach Hut, saying: “I have to be honest with myself, and everyone, that I do still love someone else.

“I have to follow my heart in this scenario and it would be wrong for me to ignore these feelings. At the end of the day, this is Love Island and it’s about finding love.

“If I carried on anything with Paige, or any other girl that might come into the villa, it wouldn’t be fair on them.”

Now three years on from his brief appearance on the reality show, Ollie and Laura Nofer have tied the knot.

The couple could be seen sharing a passionate kiss on the church steps in a photo shared by Ollie’s new wife.

They sported huge grins as they were greeted by friends and family, who showered them with rose petals.

In another snap Ollie gave his bride a cheeky glance as they stood holding hands at the altar.

Laura shared the post on social media, writing: “I married my best friend and it was the most incredible day of my entire life.”

Followers rushed to congratulate the happy couple.

One person gushed: “Beautiful photos and an amazing day. It was brilliant. Congratulations again.”

A second agreed: “What a beautiful day in all respects. Thank you for including us, it was magical.”

Ollie’s time on Love Island was shrouded in controversy after pictures emerged of him posing with dead animals in Africa.

Following his exit he insisted they were taken as part of a sustainable conservation programme in Mozambique.

He later came under fire for hunting and posing with the dead bodies of the deer he killed.
