Bandaged Ears Are the RNC’s Hot New Accessory
In homage to Trump, some Republicans are copying his look.
The hot new trend at the Republican National Convention isn’t a rapidly accelerating descent into fascism (although that’s in a close second). No, some of the coolest septuagenarians at the convention have begun wearing bandages on their right ear to show their support for former president Donald Trump.
Since being shot last week at a rally, Trump has been sporting a bright white bandage on his ear. In a real “I saw Cady Heron wearing army pants and flip-flops, so I bought army pants and flip-flops” show of support, the MAGA folks are now dressing up like their guy. One woman told the BBC, “We’re helping President Trump set a new fashion statement and we’re standing in solidarity with him for his wound.”
“We do it in solidarity with our president, Trump, because we love him, we support him 100 percent, and we wish him well,” said another woman whose cosplay looked less like a bandage and more like a regular tissue scotch taped to her ear. If you’re gonna do it, let’s add a little fake blood or something. These people know nothing of drama!
Oh, by the way, the third hottest trend at the RNC is whatever’s going on with Matt Gaetz’s face.
