Man Utd forced to postpone ticket release as Microsoft outage causes chaos for fans

MANCHESTER UNITED have been hit by a global IT outage which has affected their ability to sell tickets.

Their website is currently unavailable due to a Microsoft issue which has affected companies across the world.

Flights in several cities across the world are grounded and thousands have reported being unable to access their online banking apps.

Manchester United confirmed that their ticketing website had also been hit.

In a statement on X, United wrote: “????Unfortunately, due to a global Microsoft Servers outage which is affecting many systems, including ours, this morning’s ticket release will be postponed until midday.

“The website will also remain unavailable until the issue is resolved. Further updates will be provided here, including any further potential delays.”

Crystal Palace confirmed they had also been hit by the outage.

The Eagles posted on X: “Due to a global issue affecting Microsoft systems, on-sale for Brentford v Crystal Palace tickets has been delayed until Monday (10:00).

“We are unfortunately unable to process ticket sales either online or over the phone, so please do not call the box office.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

Championship club Luton Town also confirmed they had been left unable to sell tickets for their games.

Sky Sports News were also hit and left unable to broadcast live.

The company wrote: “Due to a global technical issue, Sky Sports News is currently unable to broadcast live.

“For all the latest sports news, scores and action, go to the Sky Sports app or website.”

The channel continued to broadcast, but was forced to show pre-recorded content rather than anything live.

Sky’s News Channel was also affected by the IT issue and left unable to broadcast.

The broadcaster were forced to show a shot of their logo with the accompanying text reading: “We apologise for the interruption to this broadcast. We hope to restore the transmission of this broadcast shortly.”
