I’m a home expert – my two garden tips can add tens of thousands to your home’s value & the first is totally free
A FEW small adjustments can instantly elevate the look of your home’s exterior.
Gardening pros shared the tips that may increase the value of your house.
Speaking on behalf of Marshalls PLC, Johanna Elvidge revealed the best ways to transform the front of your home without breaking the bank.
She recommended spending some time defining the pathways and edges of your front lawn.
“Kerb and lawn edging can help add definition to the front of your home,” the expert explained.
“This design choice can make your driveway, pathways, lawns and flower beds appear neater and well-kept.”
She pointed out that the “structural addition” can help to “add both charm and cohesion to the space.”
Elvidge gave some examples of how to best do this, including adding a brick border, concrete edging, or gravel.
“Try to choose edging that will complement your home’s external aesthetic and define the boundaries of your grass or paved areas,” she said.
She also advised homeowners to do some landscaping in their front yard.
“Liven up your home’s exterior with some plants, flowers and trees,” Elvidge suggested.
“This will not only add colour to your property but also help soften the appearance of paving and concrete, making your home appear warm and welcoming.”
She suggested adding hanging baskets and plant pots to the front of your home.
According to the green-thumbed pro, these are considered a great option due to their “easy maintenance and rotation of seasonal plants and flowers.”
The home expert highlighted the importance of a well-maintained front garden.
“First impressions matter, not only for people but also homes,” she explained.
“Since the front of your home is the first thing guests, passers-by, and potential buyers see, making sure it is well-kept is not something that should be overlooked.”
