Suspect caught for November knife attack

A 42-year-old man was arrested on Friday for an incident that took place in November 2023, according to police reports.

The suspect had been a wanted person for over eight months before his arrest.

On November 4, 2023, following a heated argument, the suspect brandished a knife, attacking a 56-year-old man and stealing €450. The assault occurred while the 56-year-old was hosting the suspect at his home in Ayia Napa.

The victim was taken to the Famagusta General Hospital, where he received stitches and was later discharged.

Police issued a warrant for the suspect, who fled shortly after the incident. He was spotted on Thursday afternoon and subsequently brought before the District Court of Famagusta.
