I’m a fit, sporty girl but always had cellulite – I tried a ‘reverse sauna’ method and my legs have never looked better

A BEAUTY enthusiast has revealed the icy treatment she used to get rid of unsightly cellulite on her legs.

She said creams, oils, and a change in her diet weren’t as effective as the “reverse sauna” method when transforming her skin texture.

She told members of Reddit’s Beauty forum that she’d “always” had bumps on her thighs, despite being a “very fit sporty girl.”

CHEERIO CELLULITE

The 5ft 5ins woman, who weighs 119lbs, said her money went “down the drain” when she tried to target her cellulite with creams, oils, and massages.

Eight years ago, she decided to cut all sugar out of her diet except fruit in the hopes of improving her appearance and increasing her chances of getting pregnant.

Having opted to eat more protein, healthy fats, and exercise, she teamed her lifestyle overhaul with frequent use of saunas.

“And also I started with the absolutely game changer: Cryotherapy,” the woman, who has since deleted her account said.

“Cryo chamber is like a reversed sauna where you spend 3-4 minutes in cca -120 degrees celsius.

“It’s not so bad as it sounds, but it is cold lol.

“You feel the capillaries in your body burst and the blood starts to flow everywhere inside your body.”

She said the treatment would make her skin “really red,” with her thighs and elbows feeling like they were burning.

“You wear protection – wooden slippers, wool socks, a face mask, a hat, and mittens,” she said.

“You go inside wearing just your underwear.

“When you’re finished, it’s crucial you warm up your body again so you head straight to the small gym where you spend 15 minutes on a treadmill or a bicycle.

“I also have a hot shower after.”

She raved that within a few months, her legs became “smoother, firmer and the cellulite started minimizing and disappearing.”

“Now, after 8 years of going every week, my legs have never looked better,” she said.

What is cellulite?

According to Medical News Today, cellulite is a “lumpy appearance” on the skin caused by fat deposits pushing through connective tissue.

The dimples can appear anywhere but are most common on the buttocks and thighs.

“There are no bumps, the skin is even and firm and I can only see a little bit of cellulite when I squeeze my thigh very hard.

“Cryotherapy has many health benefits (among other things, it makes my skin tighter and more youthful) but I would’ve never guessed doing this would get rid of the cellulite.

“I highly recommend it to everyone who cares about their health.”

TRENDY TREATMENT

Many Redditors upvoted the post and said they were eager to try cryotherapy for themselves.

According to Healthline, anecdotal evidence suggests cryotherapy can improve dermatitis and other skin conditions.

Experts recommend spending no longer than four minutes in cold temperatures when doing whole-body cryotherapy.

A doctor may advise against eating or drinking for 12 hours before.

Reducing arthritic pain and treating low-risk tumors are among the other possible benefits of cryotherapy.

People with diabetes or conditions that affect their nerves are unsuitable for the treatment as they may not be able to feel the effect properly.
