Abbey Clancy reveals the £25 reason she goes without her engagement ring – after admitting even her friends ask her why
SOME people never take their engagement ring off, but Abbey Clancy isn’t one of them.
The model recently revealed the simple reason she goes without her bling sometimes after admitting even her friends quiz her on it when she leaves her finger bare.
Speaking on the latest episode of The Therapy Crouch, the podcast she shares with husband Peter Crouch, Abbey explained why, as even hubby peter didn’t know.
In the episode, Peter read the question: “Why doesn’t Abbey always wear her wedding and engagement rings?”
But the Britain’s Next Top Model star immediately shut down any rumours with a very simple explanation.
It’s all to do with her fake tan, she explained.
“If I’m putting tan on I take it off,” she said.
To avoid getting her ring dirty, and to make sure she’s not left with any pale patches, Abbey said she takes off the ring before her spray tan.
“So that’s the only reason, it’s when you put your fake tan on, it’s not that you want to be single on some occasions,” Peter then joked.
But Abbey added that she wouldn’t mind a ring upgrade either.
Abbey’s blind reportedly cost an impressive £200k back in 2009 when Peter popped the question.
The pear-shaped diamond is a timeless classic, so it’s no wonder people notice when she’s not wearing it.
They said I Do in 2011, at the Stapleford Park Hotel in Leicestershire, then reinforced their commitment to each other in a “beautiful” moment on the beach in front of their kids 11 years later.
Talking of their renewal, Abbey told Hello! Magazine at the time: “We started as a young couple together, and now here we are with our four kids walking us down the aisle.
“I feel like the luckiest person on earth.
“We were going to renew our vows on our ten-year anniversary, but with lockdown, we couldn’t do it… Pete’s quite romantic at heart; he has definitely earned himself brownie points for the next few years.”
They tied the knot for the second time under an arch of white roses on a private island at the Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort.
Peter, clearly besotted, told the publication: “Abbey looked incredible, and even after 11 years, I still got butterflies when she walked down the aisle.”
