ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The restaurant industry is ever-changing with restaurants opening, closing, relocating, or just doing their thing. Here’s a recap of the latest Capital Region restaurant news, July 15 through 19.

Meat & Company opens in Niskayuna

Slow meats and sandwiches is what you’ll find at the newly-opened Meat & Company in Niskayuna. The restaurant had it’s soft opening on Friday and Saturday with a very limited menu.

New Italian restaurant opens on Saratoga Lake

A new Italian restaurant has opened in the former Nostalgia Ale House & Wine Bar space on Saratoga Lake. Buona Sera had its soft opening on Saturday, July 13.

Taste of Toga returning to fairgrounds for second year

The second annual Taste of Toga festival is set for Saturday, September 14 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Saratoga County Fairgrounds. The festival will be serving up food and drinks from Saratoga County restaurants and beverage makers with live music throughout the day.

Rensselaer County hosting ice cream social contest

July is National Ice Cream Month. While Montgomery County is celebrating Ice Cream Week from July 15 to 21, Rensselaer County Tourism and Rensselaer County Dairy Promotion are hosting a social media ice cream contest.

Celebrate National Hot Dog Day in the Capital Region

Cumberland Farms, Quik Stop, and Fastrac and celebrating National Hot Dog Day all week long. You can find local locations on the Cumberland FarmsQuik Stop, and Fastrac websites.

Brandy distillery, tasting room opens in Columbia County

A new brandy distillery, tasting room and event space has opened in Columbia County. Klocke Estate is located on 160 acres of land at 2554 Route 27 in Claverack.

Globally-inspired restaurant to open in Amsterdam

A new restaurant is coming to downtown Amsterdam. 44 Main is set to open in the former G’s Famous Lemon Cookies space at 44 Main Street.

Ex-Tinney’s Tavern owner opens pizzeria in Middle Grove

At the end of April, Kevin Joyce sold Tinney’s Tavern on Lake Desolation to new owners. The following month, Joyce, along with James Murphy and Erika Faas, opened The Post Pizza & More in Middle Grove.
