Ionescu’s Nike Sabrina 2 Sneaker Gets a ‘USA’ Colorway for the Paris Olympics

Sabrina Ionescu’s second signature sneaker from Nike is getting the Olympic treatment.

The Nike Sabrina 2 “USA” will release in August during the Paris Olympics, where Ionescu will be playing for Team USA in its bid for an eight-straight gold medal. The red white and blue sneaker sees its upper taken over with a tonal red treatment. The midsole is then split into red and dark blue, while the Swooshes and Sabrina logo are rendered in white.

Like its predecessor, the Sabrina 2 has been a hit since launching in June. The unisex basketball sneaker sheds 28 grams of weight from the Sabrina 1 while being the first Nike basketball model to feature a Cushlon 3.0 foam midsole. A Zoom Air unit is placed at the forefoot for energy return and responsiveness, while an updated band system wraps around the midfoot for a glove-like fit.

During a panel discussion to promote the Sabrina 2, Nike revealed that more than 80 NBA players wore the Sabrina 1 during the previous season. The brand also said Sabrina’s line is one of its fastest growing in both the U.S. and China.

So far, the Sabrina 2 has been released in just two colorways, “Court Vision” and “Conductor,” but it’s also been made available on the Nike By You platform with a wide range of customization options.

The Nike Sabrina 1 “USA” will release August 1 through the Nike website and select third-party retailers. Pricing is set at $130.
