One Of The Best Horror Movies Of 2024 So Far Is Now Streaming On Peacock

If you’ve been waiting a while for Abigail to make it on a streaming service without paying exorbitant prices, today’s your day.
This year has been amazing when it comes to the spooky thrills of the horror genre. It seems like we’ve entered a new golden age of horror cinema, from I Saw The TV Glow to MaXXXine to Longlegs, there’s something for everyone here. One of my own personal faves for best horror movie of 2024 so far is the spooky comedy Abigail. While it arrived in theaters earlier this year, it’s only been available for streaming at high “theater at home” prices…until now.
When a group of criminals are tasked with abducting a young girl from a mansion, they don’t ask questions. Honestly, if they tried, they probably wouldn’t get any. That’s not how the criminal underbelly works. You pick a lock or hack a computer or take down a guard, get paid, and be on your way.
All they have to do after snagging this adorable little ballerina is keep in her in a safehouse for 24 hours while the man that hired them works on getting a ransom from the mysterious girl’s even more mysterious father. But things just aren’t that easy. And with death surrounding them in this palatial castle-like mansion in the middle of nowhere with seemingly no way to leave, the criminals may just have to turn on each other.
(By the way, there’s some great acting from everyone involved, but especially from Alisha Weir, who plays Abigail.)
It’s equal parts funny, smart, and gruesome. Aside from that little description above and a few promotional pictures, I encourage you to go into this movie without any spoilers. Just grab some popcorn and have a great night.
