The spokesperson for Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry stated that the Hafiz Gul Bahadur faction persistently operates from Afghan territory against Pakistan.

Zahra Baloch, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, stated on Friday, July 19th, that the Afghan Taliban must seriously address groups involved in “terrorist attacks” in Pakistan.

Baloch said in her weekly press conference that Pakistan is engaged in combating terrorist activities within its borders, while the “terrorist group Hafiz Gul Bahadur” has taken refuge in Afghanistan.

Hafiz Gul Bahadur is one of the key commanders of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Pakistani authorities say this commander lives among anti-government militias in Afghanistan.

Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson continued to admit that the government is concerned about recent attacks by Taliban militants on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa authorities.

She added that “terrorist activities” pose a significant threat to bilateral relations between the two countries, endangering Pakistan’s stability. According to her, terrorists using Afghanistan soil threaten global peace.

The Hafiz Gul Bahadur faction has claimed responsibility for several deadly attacks in Pakistan in recent months.

In the latest incident, Pakistan’s military said fighters from the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group attacked a military base in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, on Monday. As a result of this attack, eight Pakistani soldiers were killed.

Pakistani officials claim two of the attackers were Afghans. The Taliban has consistently denied Pakistan’s allegations of Afghan involvement in Pakistan’s insecurity and sheltering of anti-government groups.

Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson continues to assert that Pakistan has shared intelligence about terrorist groups in Afghanistan with Taliban authorities.

The continued presence and operations of these militants pose a grave threat to peace and security, necessitating concerted efforts for regional stability and cooperation.
