Get to Know 'Debut' Global Girl Group KATSEYE With These 10 Fun Facts! (Exclusive)

KATSEYE is from all over the world, and they’re ready to take over the world too – and we want Just Jared readers to get to know them even better.

The first global girl group formed under traditional K-pop methodologies consists of six members: DANIELA (USA), LARA (USA), MANON (Switzerland), MEGAN (Honolulu, HI), SOPHIA (Philippines) and YOONCHAE (South Korea).

Formed through the Netflix survival program The Debut: Dream Academy, the group is finally making their first moves, beginning with the appropriately titled first single, “Debut.”

Their debut EP SIS (SOFT IS STRONG) is set for release on August 16, with a title that reflects one of KATSEYE’s core beliefs: Soft Is Strong, and also nods to the sisterhood they’ve forged, despite coming from immensely different cultures.

KATSEYE will also be the subject of their very own Netflix docuseries Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE, which tells the story of how the group was put together.

Here’s a plot summary: “With unprecedented access, the series will be a compelling portrayal of the journey to global stardom, including insight into the unique training and development program from HYBE and Geffen Records.”

KATSEYE will also be performing during the pre-show at KCON in LA on July 28!
