MAGA meltdown hits Bernie Sanders after searing takedown on 'The Late Show'

Triggered MAGA supporters recoiled Friday over a video of Sen. Bernie Sanders slamming former President Donald Trump's speech accepting the Republican nomination for president.

Cheers of "Bernie! Bernie! Bernie!" greeted the progressive Vermont lawmaker on "The Late Show" with Stephen Colbert on Thursday night, to which he jokingly replied, "I accept your nomination!"

He then launched into how he feels stunned over how the country's "real problems" are discussed — and how few "real solutions" are given.

"Basically what the speech was about is, 'country is in terrible shape, vote for me and I'm gonna bring all of these wonderful things to you. You don't know how, why — I'm going to do it. Just trust me,'" said Sanders, animatedly imitating Trump, to cheers. "And that is not the way a democracy should be run."

Sanders jabbed that Americans must've somehow missed the "greatest time in the history of humankind."

"It just flew right by!"

He then shredded Trump's lone moment discussing actual policy — in which he talked about energy.

"Not just Bernie Sanders, every scientist who studies the issue tells us that climate change is an existential threat to the planet. That if we don't get our act together —" he says, cut off by applause — "as a nation and as a world, the planet we are going to be leaving our kids and our grandchildren is going to be increasingly uninhabitable and unhealthy. Trillions of dollars of damage is going to be cost."

Trump's solution of "drill, baby, drill" Sanders lodges, comes as he takes massive sums of money from oil and fossil fuel companies.

"His brilliant answer to that is climate change is a hoax created by China," said Sanders. "That would be funny if it wasn't so frightening."

He urged everyone from farmers to young people who want to have kids and grandchildren to "think about the future of the planet if we don't tackle climate change" and elect a president who wants to boost carbon emissions.

"On that basis alone, nobody in America should be voting for Trump."

MAGA supporters predictably expressed displeasure over Sanders' takedown, baselessly claiming climate change isn't real.

"There’s no climate crisis, Bernie. Drill baby drill," replied @ValentinaForSOS.

"That’s why I’m voting for him. Drill baby drill !" wrote @Larrystege32752.

"Time to retire Bernie!" wrote @ElianneTerra.

"Propagandist pseudoscience," responded @theblej.

"Drill baby drill," wrote @Husseinhrm.
