Aljamain Sterling gets his wish.
Sterling fights Movsar Evloev in a featherweight title at UFC 307 which takes place on Oct. 5. MMA Fighting confirmed the matchup with multiple sources. The news was first reported by MMA Propagande.
A former bantamweight champion, Sterling made his 145-pound debut at UFC 300, dominating Calvin Kattar to rise to No. 8 in the UFC’s featherweight rankings. Following the win, Sterling called for a fight with Evloev, but the bout took some time to come to fruition, leading Sterling to pursue other options. Ultimately, the matchup did get finished though as Sterling posted on his Instagram in excitement for the fight.
Currently, Evloev, the No. 5-ranked featherweight in the UFC, is undefeated in MMA with a perfect 18-0 record. Most recently, Evloev won via unanimous decision over Arnold Allen at UFC 297 in January.
While not yet official, UFC 307 is expected to be heading back to Salt Lake City.
