WATCH: Flames from routine burning of propane at Albany facility

On Thursday, the Albany Police Department issued an advisory about flames being visible at Global Partners on Erie Boulevard due to them burning propane from one of their tanks

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- On Thursday, the Albany Police Department issued an advisory about flames being visible at Global Partners on Erie Boulevard due to them burning propane from one of their tanks. You can watch a video of the flames in the player above.

Global Partners said this process is done for the routine maintenance of tanks and involves "flaring" or burning propane through a flare stick. This burns off the remaining gas in the tank.

The flames may be seen by drivers on I-787 and I-90 and these is no safety concern. The burning is expected to be completed by 8 p.m. on Friday.
