1993 Saratoga County homicide investigation continues

CHARLTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the homicide of 37-year-old Betty Conley. Conley was found dead in Charlton on July 8, 1993.

Conley was located around 3 a.m. with a single gunshot wound to the head inside the Xtra Mart located at 1958 State Route 67. She was reportedly working as an overnight clerk at the business at the time of her death. Investigators say cash had also been stolen out of the store's register.

The initial investigation determined that a white mid-1980s sedan with rust on the driver's door was parked in the Xtra Mart's lot at the time. It was also reported that a white man between the ages of 30 and 35 wearing a peach-colored tank top was seen in the area of the crime. The man was described as being clean-shaven with shoulder-length blonde hair and a medium build.
