Twisters Twists Toward a Box-Office Breakout

Get on the Glen Powell train, choo choo, because it’s leaving the station! Quick, quick! It’s running away! Soon there will be no way to stop it! The box office for Twisters, the Twister sequel (now with an extra s and Glen Powell), is looking positively twist-mazing. The Lee Isaac-Chung–directed film earned a strong $7 million in previews, a number that included Imax/PLF previews on Wednesday and previews on Thursday, according to Deadline. The movie is currently expected to earn anywhere from $40 million to $55 million in its opening week, but with that strong preview total, Deadline predicts it could move up to a $60 million opening. Brisket’s hard work is paying off.
