Shoppers rush to snap up 10 birthday cards for £1 as popular bargain store launches deal
A POPULAR card shop has got a new deal on where shoppers can buy a whopping 10 cards for just £1.
A Facebook user took to the social media platform to spread the word of the amazing deal happening at Cards Direct.
The amazing deal includes over 20 different cards[/caption]The Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group account attached a picture of the deal where over 20 different options of cards are available.
Whether you’re buying for a sister, dad or grandparent, there is a card for everyone – while saving a fair bit of cash.
A user commented how another well-known card shop is doing the same deal.
They said: “Also 10 for £1 at Card Factory!”
But one user alluded to the deal showing little care for a person’s birthday by only spending 10p on a card.
They said: “Shows someone you don’t care.”
In response, the Extreme Couponing and Bargain account said: “A card is a card at the end of the day, most people will appreciate the effort and thought that goes into receiving a card, whether it costs £1, £2 or 10p.”
It comes as the major card retailer Card Factory, with more than 1,000 branches, announced a store will close in days.
The much-loved shop’s closure will come as a huge blow to people who rely on the branch for party essentials.
Card Factory has branches across the country including in major cities like London, Nottingham and Sheffield.
But the retailer is now pulling down the shutter on one of its stores in Scotland in just a few days.
Shoppers in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire, will now have to find an alternative gift store as the branch on Teviot Walk is set to close on Saturday, July 20.
A sign on the store – which is located in The Centre Cumbernauld shopping centre – reads: “We’re closing on July 20. The party continues at your nearest store: Card Factory Unit 75, Antonine Shopping Centre, 17 Forth Walk Cumbernauld, G67 1BT.”
The retailer – which sells everything from cards, gifts and party essentials like balloons – said they decided to close the store due to having another one just “around the corner”.
Shoppers were left crying to hear about the shocking store closure.
One Facebook user said: “It would be better to just close the centre down completely.”
While another shopper wrote: ” “This place is an absolute shambles.”
A third user added: “Another one bites the dust.”
The closure only affects the Teviot Walk branch – and the nearest store in Antonine Shopping Centre on Forth Walk will continue to operate as usual.
