Naidu sets sights on funds for irrigation project, 8 poor districts

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is pushing the Union government for budgetary support for two key projects: the development of eight backward districts and funding for the Polavaram irrigation project. Naidu, who visited Delhi twice recently, seeks ₹12,000 crore for Polavaram, a project declared a national priority in 2014. The state government is also advocating for funds to address disparities in Anantapur, Chittoor, Prakasam, Cuddapah, Kurnool, Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, and Vizianagaram districts.
