Melania Trump Finally Showed Face at the RNC

Apparently, she was just biding her time to make a dramatic entrance.

Throughout this week’s Republican National Convention, one question has been lingering among Donald Trump’s supporters: Where is Melania? The former First Lady has been notably absent on the campaign trail — but apparently, she was just biding her time to make a dramatic entrance.

Wearing a red skirt suit, Melania entered the convention center to loud applause as Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 played, and she waved and smiled. In the Trump-family box, she joined Eric, Donald Jr., Tiffany, and Ivanka. The couple’s 18-year-old son, Barron, was MIA, but the family laughed when Trump said in his speech later that night that “everybody loves Barron.”

Melania and Ivanka have both kept their distance from Trump’s second run for office. In November 2022, Ivanka, who worked as an adviser to her father when he was president, said she wouldn’t be participating this time around. Meanwhile, Melania hasn’t said much at all, though after Trump got shot at a rally last weekend, she released a rare — and long and wordy — statement calling on Americans to “ascend above the hate.

On Thursday night, Trump gave Melania a shout-out in his rambling 90-minute acceptance speech, saying he was “deeply honored” to be joined by his “amazing wife,” and thanked her for her statement. “You also did something really beautiful — a letter to America calling for national unity — and it really took the Republican Party by surprise. It was beautiful.” Melania joined Trump onstage and even went so far as to give him an air-kiss on the cheek.

Nothing like an assassination attempt to bring this couple together, I guess?
