Mulvane Art Lab brings a sense of exploration to the Kansas Children's Discovery Center

TOPEKA (KSNT) - Kids at the Kansas Children's Discovery Center got to explore with nature and art hands-on.

The Mulvane Art Museum stopped by to give kids the opportunity to try different forms of art using nature.

The Mulvane Art Lab has thrown several pop-ups throughout Topeka to stay involved in the community during the museum's renovations on Washburn University's campus.

"These particular projects that we try to bring are exciting," Stacy Ash, the art education coordinator at the Mulvane Art Museum said. "They are using things from nature and the kids I feel like have a lot more of a sense of exploration when they are already in a setting like this."

Kids got to try leaf painting, sun prints and book paintings.

The renovated art lab will open just in time for the 100th anniversary of the museum in September.
