The Oklahoma City Police Department is searching for answers after a deadly shooting Thursday afternoon.

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - The Oklahoma City Police Department is searching for answers after a deadly shooting Thursday afternoon

"We believe that there's people out there we haven't talked to yet. It's a very busy time in the day. It's a busy intersection,” said MSgt. Gary Knight with OKCPD.

Officers found a woman’s body outside of the Walgreens on SE 44th St. and Shields Blvd.

"She was just outside of the business lying in the parking lot or in the drive through of the business,” said MSgt. Knight. "Appeared to have been shot to death. She was pronounced dead at the scene."

The victim hasn’t been identified yet and OKCPD is still working to track down the shooter.

Darryl Rogers lives nearby. He said he came home and saw the chaos unfolding.

“About 12 cop cars,” said Rogers. “I was looking to see what was going on, but they [police officers] told me, ‘Go on, go on.’"

He’s lived in the area for about four years. He told KFOR this incident has left him feeling uneasy.

"It’s sad, you know? That's the first time I heard of someone getting killed in my area,” said Rogers. “I'm going to be watching out for myself more."
