TOPEKA (KSNT) – One person is dead after an overnight shooting in Topeka on Saturday, marking the Topeka Police Department's 11th homicide investigation of the year.

Officers responded to the 2900 block of SW Topeka Blvd. at around 12:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers say they located one individual suffering from a gunshot wound. This individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
