Child in hospital after swimming pool accident

A four-year-old child is in Makario general hospital after he fell into a pool at a Paphos tourist resort, it was reported on Saturday.

The incident unfolded on Friday, as the family on holiday from Russia was staying at a villa in Kouklia.

According to Paphos police, the child appears to have fallen into pool and his parents dove in and gave him first aid.

They took the child to Paphos general hospital but a helicopter was ushered in to take the child to Makario hospital in Nicosia due to the severity of his condition.

The four-year-old’s health condition is improving and stable.

Kouklia police are carrying out an investigation into the case.
