My ‘gentle approach’ to skincare bloody works – commit to the long game & you’ll have glowing & unlined skin in your 60s

A SKINCARE fan has shared their gentle technique to keep wrinkles at bay.

They revealed that their holy grail approach ensured their skin was glowing and line-free even into their 60s.

They said they swear by a few go-to products that never leave their rotation, such as one of Clarin’s Blue Orchid, Santal, and Lotus facial oils, which retail for $67 each, or a $17 Amazon oil.

“Use a facial oil at night. Massage it in assiduously,” Redditor Subterraniate wrote.

“There are so many oils out there nowadays; it must be very confusing, but you can’t go wrong with Trilogy’s rosehip oil or one of the three classic Clarins oils.”

They added that the beauty investment will cost shoppers about $50.

“No need to pay anything over about €45 [$49] max, as this is pretty much an unimprovable bit of skincare already,” they said.

“I’ve been using oils for about 30 years, and I have to say my skin shows that they really bloody work.”

The oils, they explained, were part of their light-handed treatment of their skin.

“I’m a great believer in a very gentle approach to skincare,” they said.

“No scrubs, astringent toners, acids (apart from hyaluronic, which isn’t acid as we know it), and definitely no retinol, though I know few would agree.”

Instead of what they deemed to be harsh actives and ingredients, they opted for as much hydration as possible.

“I’m all about maximum moisture rather than trying to erase lines because I reckon moisturizing and oils do the same job but from the inside out. Here endeth the lesson!” they said.

Other products in their skincare lineup include face creams by Burren Perfumery.

“Absolutely fantastic, natural creams,” they said.

“All you could possibly need is no wild claims about anti-aging, but a really high-quality cream with no occlusives (silicones) or other petrochemical fillers and emulsifiers to block the cream from doing its best work.

Anti-aging tips and 'superstar' products

Dr. Anatalia Moore is a GP and skin specialist with over 11 years of clinical experience.

She told The U.S. Sun that her goal is to equip patients with the knowledge they need to take control of their skin journey.

She said the fundamental basics of a beauty routine are the same for all ages — it should include an effective cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF.

“Moisturizers are my superstar, even over products containing active ingredients,” she said.

“Finding a well-balanced moisturizer that provides the right kind of hydration, replaces natural oils, and seals them in, literally stabilizes your skin.

“This in itself quickly can soften the appearance of fine lines and texture, as often these are worsened by dehydration.

“It also allows the skin to function as it should.

“It then can heal faster, which, among many things, can lead to fewer lines and wrinkles, less flares of dermatitis and rosacea, and shorter-lived, milder breakouts.”

Dr. Moore’s skincare staples:

“The thing with this type of skincare is a commitment to the long game.

“Although you’ll see plump and happy skin immediately, the real benefits accrue over time, as your skin rebuilds itself and gradually presents a renewed, more plumptious self to the world.

“These effects are long-lasting and permanent if you continue with this gentle care every day.”

They revealed that dedicated skincare fans can expect results well into their sixties.

“Even in your late sixties, when gravity may be taking a toll, you can still have glowing and largely unlined skin,” they said.

“Lines and wrinkles don’t matter a damn anyway, as long as the skin they’re in is well kept and happy. That’s what I noticed!”
