Somnath Bharti moves Delhi HC challenging election of BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj

AAP leader Somnath Bharti has filed an election petition with the Delhi High Court challenging BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj's victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Bharti, who secured 374,815 votes against Swaraj's 453,185 from the New Delhi constituency, alleges corrupt practices including vote manipulation and improper campaigning tactics. The petition, set to be heard by Justice Manmeet PS Arora on July 22, accuses Swaraj and her associates of using unfair methods to influence the election. The plea also highlights the controversial role of former AAP minister Raaj Kumar Anand, who allegedly shifted party affiliations to support Swaraj.
