Patriots Make Roster Moves Before Start Of Training Camp
Patriots rookies reported for training camp Friday, but a pair was not cleared to practice.
New England placed running back Terrell Jennings on the active/physically unable to perform list and linebacker Jontrey Hunter was placed on the active/non-football injury list, per ESPN’s Mike Reiss and the Boston Herald’s Doug Kyed.
The undrafted free agents count toward the active roster and can participate in practice at any time as the Patriots start their process of cutting down the roster.
Jennings signed with New England after participating in rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. The Florida A&M product finished his collegiate career with 381 carries for 1,754 yards and 24 touchdowns in 45 games.
Hunter signed with the Patriots following the 2024 NFL Draft after six years at Georgia State. The 24-year-old recorded 96 tackles in his final campaign where he earned third-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors. He also earned invitations to the Senior Bowl and NFL Scouting Combine. The Florida native finished his collegiate career with 225 tackles, six sacks and three interceptions.
Rookies got off to a rough start Friday due to the worldwide Microsoft outage. The full team reports to training camp Wednesday.
