Erykah Badu to headline Afropunk Festival at Prospect Park

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- It's that time of year again. Afropunk is set to return next month at the Lena Horne Bandshell in Prospect Park with a massive headliner.

The two-day festival, dubbed AFROPUNK BLKTOPIA Brooklyn, will take place from Aug. 24 through Aug. 25. Erykah Badu, a neo-soul trailblazer, is set to headline the highly-anticipated fest.

The festival is returning to its stomping grounds at Prospect Park and is set to partner with BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn. This year's theme is "a celebration of the future of Black life, creativity, community, and expression reimagined."

In previous years, attendees could sample pop, R&B, funk, neo-soul, rap, house music, and so much more at the festival’s previous venue in Barry Commodore Park.

Stars like Teyana Taylor, Joey Badass, Baby Tate, and Tierra Whack are just some of the big names to grace Afropunk’s stage.
