Four major supermarkets where kids can eat for less than £1.50 as schools break up for summer – plus best free days out

PARENTS looking to feed their kids on the cheap can do so for less than £1.50 at a range of supermarkets over summer.

Martin Lewis’ MoneySavingExpert has pieced together a list of how to snap up deals and offers for dine-in and takeaway.

There’s also good news for Sainsbury’s shoppers

There are several supermarkets among them, including Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons.

Furniture giant Ikea has also been named for its kids deal.

At Asda cafes, kids eat for only £1 – with no minimum spend by the adult required.

At the Tesco cafe, kids at free when the adult makes a purchase, although this is for Clubcard members only, the supermarket’s loyalty program.

Meanwhile Sainsbury’s shoppers can take kids to eat for £1 but parents have to buy a main meal at the cafe first.

Morrisons cafes offer a free bowl of cereal – every day until closing time.

Parents on a furniture shop at Ikea can also keep a handle on their hungry kids who can eat there for 95p or £1.50 with fruit and a soft drink added on.

It’s available at Ikea stores with a restaurant from 11am – but isn’t valid on Fridays.

Instead the Swedish store is offering 50 per cent off selected restaurant meals on Fridays for family members.

It’s valid until August 30 and includes the small cooked breakfast, meatball meals and fish and chips.

In other striking deals, Sizzling Pubs promise you can feed the whole family for less than £15 on weekdays between 3-7pm.

If parents purchase two mains, kids can then eat for £1 from dishes including fish fingers and a chicken burger.

Kids can eat free at Bella Italia on Thursdays when the adult buys a main meal, and for £1 on Sunday-Wednesday.

Fridays, Dobbies, Marco Pierre and The Real Greek are also tabling “kids eat free” deals when the adult buys a main, with the latter only including Sundays for those keen on a Greek eat.

Adults can on a takeaway deal instead could look to rivals Domino’s and Pizza Hut.

Both offer two-for-one pizza deals on Thursdays, which can be ordered over the phone, in-store or from the “meal deals” section of the Pizza Hut website.

Domino’s requires a little more admin, with pizza fans having to use the app.
