A$AP Rocky Shows Love for Puma in Their Chunky Black Gore-Tex Sneakers in New York

Aptly, the rapper unveiled his newest Puma collection during his AWGE show he'd put on as part of Paris Fashion Week back in June.

A$AP Rocky was spotted repping Puma in New York yesterday.

Paired with white ankle-length socks, the “Sundress” rapper sported a pair of black Puma sneakers. The sporty style featured contrasting white accents, black lace-up closures and the word “Gore-tex” sprawled on the sides in gray writing. Puma branding could be found throughout the sneakers in contrasting white, making the style instantly recognizable. Striping could be found down the sides.

The rapper’s sneakers are the perfect example of a chunky nostalgic silhouette, one inspired by sneakers that came before it. The on-trend style is comprised of an oversized visage with athletic aspects like cushioned high-performance soles made of flexible non-slip rubber.

A true Puma fan through and through, Rocky was clad in the brand’s sporty long-sleeve zip-up, accompanied by baggy black shorts. In a playful move true to his unique style, the musician donned Beats headphones in white dotted with ornate pearl detailing. Rocky and Beats also have a long-standing partnership.

Rocky’s footwear choices are, among other things, versatile, fashion-forward and always feature a hint of edge. On June 21, he unveiled his newest Puma collection during his AWGE show he’d put on as part of Paris Fashion Week.

The collection encapsulated Rocky’s love for timeless street style-inspired silhouettes. The showing included the limited re-issue of Puma’s OG Inhale shoe from 2000 in summer melon-high-risk red, which launched in May, was styled for the AWGE runway. Rocky hand-picked the vintage silhouette from Puma’s archive.

Rocky first partnered with Puma on Oct. 2023, joining the company as creative director for the brand’s F1 partnership. Through this partnership, Rocky introduced a larger capsule that included t-shirts with seatbelt graphics, a distressed tracksuit and a balaclava styled like those racers wear under their helmets. The musician’s girlfriend Rihanna has also been a collaborator with the footwear brand since 2014.
