Sophia Bush Reveals She Made The First Move in Relationship with Girlfriend Ashlyn Harris

Sophia Bush is looking back at pursuing a relationship with Ashlyn Harris.

Back in April, the 42-year-old Chicago P.D. actress publicly came out as queer and officially confirmed that she was dating the 38-year-old retired soccer pro after months of speculation.

During the Thursday (July 18) episode of her podcast Work in Progress, Sophia revealed that she asked out Ashlyn when she found out mutual friends were trying to set the athlete up with someone else.

Keep reading to find out more…“I was like, ‘If she’s ready to date, she’s going on a date with me,’” Sophia said. “Like, sorry, uh uh. Like, no f–king way.”

Sophia then said that Ashlyn was very surprised when she asked her out.

“She was like, ‘Hold the phone, I always thought you were straight,’” Sophia recalled. “And I was like, ‘I always thought you were happy. But we’re both f–king single, what are we doing?’”

She continued, “We were f–king cackling because I was like, ‘Yeah. dude, I never looked at you as an option,’ and she was like, ‘I never looked at you as an option.’”

Sophia and Ashlyn started dating in late 2023 following Sophia‘s split from husband Grant Hughes and Ashlyn‘s split from wife Ali Krieger.

During another recent episode of her podcast, Sophia recalled the conversation that helped her realize that she was queer.
