Lawrence man identified in South Topeka homicide

TOPEKA (KSNT) - The Topeka Police Department (TPD) has identified the victim of Saturday mornings shooting as Earon Cooper, 31, of Lawrence.

Around 12:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 20, Officers with TPD responded to the 2900 block of southwest Topeka Blvd. in reference to a shooting.

When officers arrived to the scene they found Cooper suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

This investigation is still ongoing.

Cooper was the victim of Topeka's 11th homicide of 2024.
